For the first time, as an organisation, the Parish Council sponsored a Craft Fest, organised by Staff and Councillors, in support of the Appeal. This was held at Roffey Millennium Hall on Saturday 14th November 2009 and it was an absolutely awful day weather-wise - the rain just kept on falling and falling.
That said, for the few intrepid souls who braved the horrendous conditions, there was a real treat in store.
There were stalls selling a range of beautiful hand-made crafts - quilting, jewellery, greeting cards and knitted items. There was an exhibition of two model railway layouts, where a number of chaps were in 'steam heaven'. Music was provided by Brogue, a traditional Irish music band - with one of the members being our very own Property Maintenance Officer, Eamonn. The Raffle had some rather nice prizes and was very popular.
The only disappointment was that Pudsey's friend, George, got caught on the M25 and couldn't make it ....
Oh yes - and the cakes - absolutely scrummy and as good an excuse as any to be there ....
£563.22
Well done us and thank you to everyone who took part and contributed ...
