Extreme Weather News....

All of the Parish Council's buildings (Roffey Millennium Hall, North Heath Hall, Holbrook Tythe Barn and the Multi Courts) are closed following last night's heavy snowfall, which is continuing ....
For this the Parish Office apologises and normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
For those of you who are out and about, why not email us, via the Parish Council's website, your snow pictures, with a brief description of the location and we will set up a Picture Gallery.
Here's one to start us off ....In the meantime, keep safe and warm everyone and remember to pop in on your neighbour to make sure they are OK ....

End Of Year Bits and Pieces ....

Well almost ....
The Parish Council was pleased to see St Mark's Church well attended for the Community Carol Service last Monday, so well done to those who braved the weather. The Service was lovely and very meaningful; and the Church was decorated beautifully.
The awful weather also played a part in some late deliveries of the Parish Newsletter and to those people who have not yet had theirs - you can read it on the Parish Website here.
Parish Office hours
The Parish Office will be closed from 12.30pm on Christmas Eve, through to 9am on 4th January. The buildings will be manned by a skeleton staff to cover those bookings that we have over the Christmas period and we are also taking advantage of the quiet time to have some maintenance work done.
And Finally ....
The Parish Office and Councillors wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year and we will be back on 4th January ........

Carols in North Horsham ....

This year sees the Parish Council's 5th annual Community Carol Service which will be held on Monday 21st December at 7pm at St Mark's Church, North Heath Lane ....Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the Service and stay on afterwards for mulled wine and mince pies ....
We hope you can join us ...

The End of an Era ....

How many people drive in or out of North Horsham on Mondays through to Friday between 7.30am and 9.30am and how many residents start their domestic day all listening to Wake Up With Wogan? How many of us grew up with Sir Terry and now our own children are listeners too?
We in the Parish Office are no exception - Sue listens on her drive into work, Stephen has abandoned Radio 1 in favour of Sir Terry to wake up to; and at least two Councillors have admitted to being TOGS.
Today was Sir Terry's last show - all the gang were there - Deadly, Lynn, Charles and, of course John Marsh, who was in on the very last Janet and John. The music was great and while there was a sadness about the show, Sir Terry carried it off beautifully .....
He will be missed ......

It's On It's Way ....

Soon to be delivered to a house near you - the latest edition of the Parish Council's Newsletter, NHPC News. Here they all are in the Parish Office waiting for the intrepid Sirhat and his people to deliver them ....The majority of homes in Roffey and Holbrook are delivered to by hand but if you're reading this and you haven't had yours you can read it on the Parish Council's website here - or call into the Parish Office for a copy. Delivery is expected to have been completed by this coming Sunday.
There are some great articles in this edition - including one about one of our Councillors who used to live in the Tower of London (how cool is that), an interesting piece about Horsham Green Gym and a lot more
Oh yes - and this time the Parish Office remembered to tell the printers to change the colour of the paper .......

More About Children In Need ....

Those in the Parish Office who organised the Parish Council's Children In Need event (see earlier post) were just a little distracted with dashing around on the day and no-one remembered to take photographs - how silly was that !!!!
That said, Margaret (who had a booth selling the most beautiful hand quilted items) saved the day. Margaret popped into the Parish Office with some photographs that she had taken ... Well done that lady ....Here are just some of the booths that were there, all helping to create a really nice atmosphere.
Thanks again to everyone who was involved in the Event ....

An Announcement ....

There is now a new Clerk to the Parish Council. Following a rigorous recruitment process, Sue Kemp, our Deputy Clerk has been appointed. Many readers will already know Sue and for those who don't, do call into the Parish Office to say hello, she is very approachable.
Sue says "I'm so excited about this wonderful opportunity and I'm really looking forward to working alongside the Parish Councillors, local groups and organisations and residents to making North Horsham an even better place to live and work".
You will be able to read a short bio of Sue in a later post ....
